Key Concepts

Organizational Units (OUs)

Organizational Units provide a hierarchical structure for managing users and applying policies across your Google Workspace domain.

Core Principles: - Hierarchical tree structure starting from root organization - Policies and settings inherit from parent unless explicitly overridden - Used for department, location, or role-based management - Maximum depth of 5 levels (including root) - Can contain users, groups, and child OUs

User Lifecycle States

Understanding user states is critical for the exam:

Directory Synchronization

Google Cloud Directory Sync (GCDS)
